A metal snap hook clips into the hole at the top of the new HammerHead tail piece. This allows for a quick disconnect for crossing a sketchy slide path in the backcountry or hopping on the tram at a resort. Since the leash stays buckled around your boot, it wont flop around on your skis. The Tail Leash also prevents unwanted binding release caused by accidentally hitting the tail throw with your other ski.
